TEEN YOGA CLASSES

Join me for a Teen Iyengar Yoga class at Strive Health in Kirkcaldy, KY1 1TS.

This fast and dynamic yoga class is aimed at 12 to 18 year olds. No Yoga experience is necessary.

The Iyengar Yoga method of teaching teens is a playful way of movement working on different aspects of the body, improving stamina, strength, mobility, and flexibility.

This is a Friday afternoon class from 2pm to 2.45pm.

Classes are offered in multiple week blocks or courses. This is to encourage attendance so that progress can be experienced. 

Class blocks are cheaper at £7.50 per class or drop ins are £10 per class.

The Benefits of Yoga to Teenagers

The Asanas (postures) are not merely physical movements. They have a wider impact on a growing body. The physiological and physical benefits of Iyengar Yoga for Teens include:
1. improves circulation
2. nourish, stimulates and maintains vital balance of the endocrinal glands which govern growth and development.
3. improve functions such as digestion and respiration so that there is more energy available for the growing adolescent.
4. Increased supply of fresh blood to the brain thus enhancing the mental capacity.
5. Strengthen the nerves whereby the endurance capacity improves.
6. Promote proper structural development by working the joints.

What is a Teen Yoga Class like?

A Teen Yoga class will involve a different sequence of poses in each class.

The Iyengar Yoga method of teaching teens is a playful way of movement working on different aspects of the body, improving stamina, strength, mobility, and flexibility.

The sequence will be made from a selection of standing poses, inversions, balancing poses, cross legged poses, sitting poses, forward bends, twists and backbending poses. 

The pace is often faster than an adult yoga class, with quick transitions between poses and short holds. 

Jumping, stretching, lifting and balancing can all happen in an Iyengar Yoga Teen Yoga class. 

No experience necessary

No experience is necessary to join this Teen Yoga class.
